Issued on September 10, 2010, a new travel warning is advising travelers of current situations posing serious threats to representatives of the U.S. government in Mexico. This new alert was posted in response to a shooting in August.
Past warnings and alerts are in reference to the violence that is being seen around the U.S./Mexico border. Drug and gang violence have escalated and pose a serious threat to the safety of travelers. Travel is not advised in this area of Mexico.
